CE Buying Specialist

• Support the development and execution of the sourcing strategy for the Salads category (Lettuces, Herbs and Prepacked Salads) across Central Europe.
• Manage the weekly buying process, including supplier communication, negotiations and cost updates, in line with the agreed category strategy.
• Support promotional planning through supplier negotiations and cost-price management, ensuring competitive promotional offers.
• Support range management and the innovation pipeline, coordinating new product development and successful product launches.
• Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to support product availability, quality and commercial performance.
• Collaborate with Quality and Technical teams to ensure products meet Tesco and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain teams to maintain appropriate stock levels, improve availability and minimise waste.
• Maintain accurate product, supplier, cost and pricing data in internal systems.
• Prepare and analyse category performance, supplier performance, cost development and other key commercial KP Is to support decision-making.
• Participate in supplier meetings and negotiations with existing and potential suppliers, and manage agreed follow-up actions.
• Proactively resolve invoice discrepancies, delivery issues and day-to-day operational challenges with suppliers and internal teams.
• Monitor market trends, customer preferences, competitor activity and pricing within the category and highlight relevant opportunities and risks.
• Ensure compliance with internal processes, policies and documentation requirements.
• Collaborate effectively with CE and country teams to ensure consistent execution across markets.
• High school diploma or equivalent education
• Up to 1 year experience in Buying, Procurement, Supply Chain, Category Management or a related commercial role.
• English at a very good level (minimum B2); Hungarian is an advantage.
• Good commercial awareness and interest in developing buying and category management expertise.
• Good negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment.
• Proactive attitude, strong ownership and willingness to learn and develop.
• Good knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.
